Support - Eudora 5.1 (Windows)

Follow these instructions to configure Eudora 5.1 to receive e-mail from your Extreme Internet account:


  1. Launch Eudora.

  2. Select Tools > Options

  3. On the opening "Getting Started" panel, fill in the following:

    Real name:    enter the name you would like displayed on e-mail messages
    Return address:    enter your Extreme Internet email account
    (example:  johnsmith@extremezone.com)
      
    Mail Server (Incoming):  

    mailhost.extremezone.com

    Login Name:    enter your Extreme Internet User Name
    (example:  johnsmith)
    SMTP Server (Outgoing):    mailhost.extremezone.com
    Allow Authentication:     select this option

     

  4. Under "Categories", select "Checking Mail" and fill in the following:

    Mail Server:   

    mailhost.extremezone.com

    Login Name:    enter your Extreme Internet User Name
    (example:  johnsmith)
    Send on check:     select this option

     

  5. Under "Categories", select "Incoming Mail" and fill in the following:

    Server Configuration:   

    POP3

    Authentication style:    password

     

  6. Under "Categories", select "Sending Mail" and fill in the following:

    Return address:    enter your Extreme Internet email account
    (example:  johnsmith@extremezone.com)
    SMTP Server:    mailhost.extremezone.com
    Allow authentication:     select this option
    Immediate send:     select this option
    Send on check:     select this option

     

  7. Under "Categories", scroll down and select "Internet Dialip" and fill in the following:

    If you have a DSL connection, you will not fill in any information on this panel

    If you have a dial-up connection, select "Have Eudora connect using dial-up networking"

     

  8. Press OK to save your settings and close the Options panel.

Eudora is now configured to receive e-mail from your Extreme Internet account.  If you have a dedicated or DSL connection, you will automatically retrieve your e-mail from the Extreme Internet mail server when you launch Eudora.  If you have a dial-up connection, you will have to connect to the Internet first, then launch Eudora and receive your e-mail.
